Michael Haghighi, MD Family Medicine in Riverview, FL

Dr. Michael Haghighi is a board-certified family medicine physician with nearly 20 years of experience in primary care and sports medicine. He is dedicated to supporting his patients' needs with evidence-based treatments focused on improving quality of life. Prior to joining Tampa General Medical Group, Dr. Haghighi served as a staff physician with MCR Health in Bradenton, Fla., and Advanced Regenerative Orthopedics in Tampa. His leadership experience includes medical director roles with Cora Physical Therapy, Minute Clinic, and Heartland Rehabilitation and Care.

Fellowship trained in sports medicine at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Haghighi previously owned Haghighi Family & Sports Medicine in Jacksonville, Fla., where he treated more than 12,000 patients as a staff physician. He also served as a sports medicine team physician for multiple high schools in addition to professional soccer and indoor football teams in Jacksonville.

Dr. Haghighi received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science in cell biology and anatomy from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He completed his family practice residency at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center, where he was a chief resident. Dr. Haghighi has memberships with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine.
